Faced with considerations for the health of our singing members and the possible lack of support for our concerts in terms of audience participation and considering all the medical advice we can gain, we have decided to cancel the remaining 2020 concert programme that was released early this year and move some of those works into the 2021 programme.
We remain hopeful that something may be possible toward the end of this year, but we will have to find ways of rehearsing and performing that are safe for our singers before we commit to such an event.
We are pleased to announce, with thanks to 4MBS ClassicFM 103.7 to announce the Drivetime Singalong with The Queenland Choir, a daily radio segment giving listeners the chance to sing with the choir to choral favourites. Please see our event page for more details!
Upcoming Concerts & Events
The Queensland Choir is more than Queensland’s premier choir, it is one of only a handful of great choirs in Australia.
The choir comprises more than 100 volunteer choristers, of diverse cultural backgrounds and ages, who perform in the symphonic choir, the chamber choir, the Brisbane Sings Messiah Chorus or all three. A long and illustrious history underpins its excellent reputation and provides a platform on which the State of Queensland’s choral development can continue to strengthen and grow.
The choir’s Board of Directors, management, volunteer groups, and supporters work together to achieve the goal of being integral to the advancement of choral music – its performance and promotion – throughout Queensland.
Support & Partners
The Queensland Choir acknowledges and thanks all of its sponsors, donors and friends for their support throughout the year. Without the help of these people and organisations, the Choir would not be able to achieve its goal to bring world class choral performances to the people of Queensland.
If you would like to help support The Queensland Choir, all donations over two dollars are tax deductible.
